Concealed Carrier Exchanges Gunfire with Armed Robber in Chicago

A 24-year-old man with a concealed carry permit shot an armed robber in the chest in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago.

Another day, another story about an armed citizen using a concealed carry handgun to stop a bad guy. The latest incident took place in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago late Thursday last week.

According to DNAinfo, a 24-year-old man was walking with a woman in the 7400 block of South Morgan Street when two men armed with guns approached and announced a robbery.

That’s when the would-be victim pulled out his concealed weapon and shot one of the suspects in the chest, Chicago police spokeswoman Janel Sedevic said.

One of the armed robbers managed to fire back, and the concealed carrier was shot in the leg.

Both men were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center to be treated for their injuries. Officer Sedevic said the victim was in stable condition, while the wounded suspect — who the Chicago Sun-Times says is 17-years-old — was in critical but stable condition.

The other armed robber managed to flee the scene before police arrived.
