If you’re familiar with Hexmag’s quality AR-15/AR-10 magazines, it’s time to get excited. The Loveland, Colorado-based manufacturer just announced it is officially entering the pistol mag market, starting with a new line of Glock compatible magazines set to debut this Spring.

Weighing in at just 1.4 ounces, these new Glock pistol magazines feature a 17-round capacity for the Glock 17 and will also work with the Glock 17C, G26, G34 and G17L models. After the 17-round magazine launches, the 10-round version for California residents will become available, as will a 30-round variant for those who need a high capacity mag, the press release says.
The reason that Hexmag is coming out with Glock pistol magazines?
“We listened closely to the market,” said Hexmag’s marketing director Dave Smith, “and saw the need for an alternative polymer Glock compatible magazine that was affordable, lightweight and as tough as our AR-15 and AR-10 magazines – and then refined and upgraded the design by integrating the classic hexagonal pattern for enhanced grip and indexing reference points.”
These new Glock compatible magazines are constructed of Hexmag’s high-impact UV stabilized PolyHex2 Advanced Composite. Meanwhile, they come in either a Black or Flat Dark Earth matte finish and feature Hexmag’s patented gripping surface, as well as a textured front-side “training” pattern for fast and easy indexing when reloading, according to the release.

Another appealing aspect of this venture into pistol magazines is that these new offerings include the HexID Color Identification System featured on its AR-15/AR-10 mags. The base plate can be removed without tools and the follower and base latch plate color changed to designate which ammunition/bullet is in the magazine for quick identification, the release states.
These new Glock magazines will retail for $16.99.
