Hogue is expanding its line of OverMolded Flat Dark Earth rifle stocks. In addition to their huge selection of bolt action and 10-22 rifle stocks, Hogue is now offering Flat Dark Earth colored models for the Howa 1500/Weatherby Vanguard, Remington 700 BDL, Mauser 98, Ruger 77 MKII, Ruger Mini 14/30 and Ruger 10-22.

“For years the Hogue rifle stock has been the number one choice for enthusiasts wanting to dress their rifle with an attractive, performance enhancing after-market stock,” stock designer Pat Hogue said in a statement. “With the demand for Flat Dark Earth models increasing, our customers have made it known they want additional choices. So, we listened.”

According to the press release, Hogue’s stocks are constructed by molding a strong and rigid fiberglass reinforced skeleton that precisely fits the long gun’s action. The skeleton is then overmolded using a soft but durable synthetic rubber. With this technology, the company has created a stock with a straight comb, palm swells and a “varminter” style forend.

Hogue’s centerfire rifle stocks are meant to free float the barrel for max accuracy, with models available for both standard and heavy “varmint” barrels. The stocks also feature QD sling studs and recoil pads.

The centerfire bolt action stocks come standard with aluminum pillar bedding for an “accurate, rock-solid action fit,” the release says. All bolt action stocks are also optionally available with a precision machined full length bedding block molded directly into the stock which extends full length into the forend.
