
Ferrum College officials have ordered a lockdown after students reported two attempted robberies on campus, one of them possibly involving a gun.
The private college in southwest Virginia issued an alert at 10:22 p.m. Thursday after the first attempted robbery was reported near Riddick Hall. Less than an hour later, another robbery was called in on campus and a lockdown was ordered.
Campus police said Friday no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made. The lockdown remains in place. A college spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a message.
