A burglar fled empty-handed after a Tulsa homeowner fired a handgun at him early Tuesday.

The owner of a home in the 1500 block of North Yukon Avenue encountered the burglar after the homeowner was awakened by his burglar alarm around 1:20 a.m., police said.

The homeowner fired a single shot from a handgun and struck the frame of the home’s back door as the burglar ran out, said Cpl. Dan Miller.
