The number of people in Illinois applying for Firearm Owner Identification or FOID cards, has reached a record high.
More and more people are attending concealed carry permit classes to get licenses to use in other states.
Gun advocates say it’s all in anticipation of a federal mandate requiring Illinois to pass its own concealed carry law.
Illinois lawmakers have until June 9, 2013, to get a concealed carry law in the books. Otherwise, Constitutional Carry will take effect, potentially allowing anyone with a FOID card to carry a gun.
