The new Millennium G2 has a barrel length of 3.2 inches and an overall length of 6.24 inches. Weighing 22 ounces empty, it has, in 9mm, a round capacity of 15 plus one.
The slim G2 features high-profile, three-dot sights. All its edges have been smoothed for an easy, snag-free draw.
The G2 firing system allows for a full, double-action trigger pull for second-strike capability in the case of a hard primer. The pistol features multiple safety mechanisms, including Taurus’ patented Security System action lock, which, when engaged, prevents the pistol from being cocked or fired.
Despite its slight weight and size, the G2 had minimal recoil signature and was very easy to shoot.
A five-shot group at 25 yards.
The Millennium G2 from Taurus represents a significant upgrade from the original PT 111 Millennium, on which the new G2 is based. This compact and lightweight striker-fired 9mm pistol features a polymer frame and a steel slide and barrel with an attractive matte black satin finish. The grip has improved and more aggressive stippling for a much firmer hold, and a notch of rail was added to the underside of the muzzle for affixing a laser or light.
The trigger features a light, pre-charged, double-action pull with a very short reset, and the design allows for a full, double-action trigger pull for second-strike capability in the case of a hard primer. The three-dot sights are easy to acquire, and the rear sight is fully adjustable for elevation and windage. Other features include a thumb safety, a loaded chamber indication, a firing pin block safety and Taurus’ Security System action lock. The takedown system has been modified and improved. The G2 (MSRP: $349) is currently available in 9mm; a .40 S&W version is coming soon.
