An Alabama bill allowing gun owners to store firearms in a car while at work has been passed by the House of Representatives and is on its way to Gov. Robert Bentley, who is expected to sign it into law.

The bill would allow those with a valid Alabama gun permit to keep firearms in their vehicle. It also provides for those with hunting licenses to store an unloaded rifle or shotgun in their vehicles while at work.
