Law Enforcement Officers throughout the State of Colorado have presented a united front in opposition of that state’s anti-gun legislation. Fifty-five individual sheriffs have signed on to fight House Bill 1224, which outlaws the majority of firearms magazines, and House Bill 1229, which imposes an unworkable system of mandatory fees and background checks on many temporary transfers of firearms. The lawsuit charges that these violate the Supreme Court’s rule in District of Columbia v. Heller against prohibiting arms which are “typically possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes.”
