For those age 21 and older, the Albany Police Department is offering a basic course in firearms which will cover safety, legal issues and handling skills.

#According to Phyllis Banks, APD spokeswoman and coordinator of the class, the course will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 22. Banks said the early part of the course will be held at the Law Enforcement Center, 201 W. Oglethorpe Blvd., and later move to hands-on instruction at the Law Enforcement firing range on Turner Field Road.
