Persian Gulf War veteran, James G. Redmon filed a civil lawsuit against Van Wert County (Ohio) Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach challenging the sheriff’s denial of his concealed carry permit application.

Sheriff Riggenbach denied the permit due to Redmon’s post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and two felony charges seven years ago. The latter was expunged from his record after he was granted a request for treatment in lieu of conviction, and successfully completed that treatment.
