The Famars Lama is a 21st century design that embodies Old World elegance and precision.
The company’s autos are built on a pinless design based on Famars famous drop-lock shotgun mechanism. Author Tim Stetzer had the opportunity to get his hands on a test model of the Lama sporting a basic black anodized finish. He writes, “The Lama is about 3.38 inches long and carries two 2-inch blades mounted opposite of each other…Both open automatically via buttons on either side of the handle.” As for the feel, Stetzer reports, “The entire surface of the knife is so smooth to the touch that it reminds you of water-polished pebbles, with no sharp edges or corners present…perfect for pocket carry.” To find out more about this truly top-caliber, refined knife that doesn’t sacrifice utility and function, check out the November 2013 issue of Tactical Knives, available on newsstands and digitally on July 23, 2013.
