1911s come in several sizes, some more concealable than others, but the new Compact Carry from Taylor’s & Co. is designed specifically for that purpose. Combat Handguns’ Mike Beliveau was recently able to test the mini 1911 in all its glory.
This 3.5-inch-barreled pistol is made by the Philippines-based Armscor Corporation, and, as Beliveau notes, “The Compact Carry has all the features shooters demand in a 1911.” These include a widened, lowered ejection port, snag-free sights dovetailed to the slide, aggressive rear slide serrations and a businesslike, matte black Parkerized finish. And it’s an “all-steel gun, so it isn’t a lightweight. It tips the scales at 38 ounces empty. That extra weight is useful for soaking up the .45 ACP recoil the pistol generates.”
So what did Beliveau think of the Compact Carry 1911? How easy (or difficult) was it to handle?
