10 lawmakers listened to a spectrum of opinions on the topic of gun control at the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security hearing.
The committee is considering 58 articles of gun control regulations ranging from gun licensing, to hunting regulations and safety measures.
Of the 350 in attendance, some spoke of gun violence in the city while others shifted the discussion toward simpler ownership laws.
Fourth Ward City Councilor Sarai Rivera called for a discussion of the cause of gun violence in Worcester and how to prevent it in the future.
