Wisconsin bar owner, Andy Kochanski, shot one of three robbers when they entered his bar with guns and demanded money. Kochanski then tried to save the man he shot, Carmelo L. Matoz-Arzola, 23, by performing CPR and calling 911.
Kochanski said, “That’s who I am, you know. I’m a firefighter, even though I don’t have my badge anymore. I always will be a firefighter.”
Matoz-Arzola later died of the gunshot wound. One of the two other robbers, Jose Munoz, 21, is in custody and was charged with attempted robbery. The third robber is still on the run.
Milwaukee County prosecutors ruled that Kochanski acted in self-defense and will face no charges.
