In a state that’s certainly not short on criminal activity, a federal court upheld New Jersey’s law requiring people to show a justifiable need to get a handgun permit. New Jersey’s Supreme Court will take up the same statute in a different case, and because New Jersey’s court has a wider reach to interpret the state’s law, the upcoming decision could have a big impact on gun rights in the Garden State.
