North Carolina families participated in a gun safety and target practice event in Rockingham County near Greensboro.
About 200 people participated in the county’s first “Firearms and Your Family” event, which was hosted by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and local gun clubs.
Organizers wanted to focus on teaching children the correct way to handle guns in order to help avoid gun-related accidents in the future. Staff from the North Carolina Wildlife Commission were also on hand to assist in target shooting, archery and skeet shooting.
