A registry of approved concealed-carry firearms training instructors, has been published by the Illinois State Police (ISP). The state of Illinois became the last state in the country to approve the law of public possession of firearms. Applicants of a concealed-carry license must successfully complete 16 hours of training, from an instructor approved by the state, who uses state-approved training curricula.
State police said Friday they plan to begin posting the approved curricula on the agency’s website by the end of the month. The approved instructor registry also is posted online. It’s updated as additional instructors are approved.
