Public service announcement—DO NOT PACK GUNS IN YOUR CARRY-ON BAG… real or otherwise.
Federal authorities are reminding travelers about airport weapon rules following the discovery of two replica handguns at Richmond International Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration said Monday that a TSA officer staffing the checkpoint X-ray machine found the replicas in a man’s carry-on bag on Sunday.
Richmond police confiscated the replica guns. Authorities allowed the man to continue his flight to Dallas-Fort Worth. Airport operations weren’t disrupted.
The TSA says in a news release that weapons, including replicas, aren’t permitted in carry-on bags. They can be packed in checked baggage.
