Fairfax (VA) police are investigating a robbery in which two robbers forced their way into a home and injured the residents, prompting one of them to fire back at them with a handgun.

The residents reportedly told police that the robbers took several items of property and “physically assaulted” several of the occupants, who sustained minor injuries.

Sgt. Penman said, during the robbery, one of the residents managed to get to a handgun they owned and fired it in the direction of the robbers, possibly hitting one of them as they fled the home.
