Robert Preece Jr., brother of stabbing victim, 24-year-old Jonathan Denver confirmed that he, not his brother, had thrown a chair at the alleged assailant’s group of friends, but that the suspected killer’s claim of self-defense was not accurate.
Preece stated that the chair in question was “an aluminum beach chair,” a gift from his father, but questioned why Montgomery, the suspect was carrying a knife if he wasn’t “looking for trouble.”
Police are still asking for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
