In Strongsville, Ohio the Strongsville Erhrnfelt Recreation Center will hold the popular “Don’t Be A Victim” course for women and their teen daughters. It is a free course, sponsored by the Strongsville Rotary Club.
“Women today want to know they have simple yet effective skills to prevent an assault,” said Jeff Ellis, an 8th degree black belt with 43 years of self-defense training experience. “There is hardly a day that goes by that we don’t see a report on television or hear about an attack or abduction on the radio.”
The “Don’t Be a Victim” workshop will focus on safety awareness, evading assault and self-defense skills. The use of basic hand strikes, blocking actions, simple kicks, and easy ways to escape from grabs or holds will be explored.
