Illinois residents who have a few months to bear firearms legally, have questions on how the new law will be rolled out and enforced.
“Will my FOID card and concealed carry be merged together?”
“Can I carry around Decatur Lake?”
“When can deadly force be used?”
Those were among the questions asked at a special meeting held at the Mount Zion Convention Center. Mount Zion Police Chief Doug Dunn, Macon County Sheriff Tom Schneider, and Macon County State’s Attorney Jay Scott used the meeting to provide an outline of what to expect locally when concealed-carry permits are issued.
“We’re trying to give a good outline for what will happen with the law and what residents should be aware of when carrying a firearm,” Dunn said.
