A self-defense seminar for women will take place from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4 in the cafeteria of Verona High School. The seminar is being sponsored by the Junior Woman’s Club with support from the Verona Board of Education. The cost is $25 per person and the class is limited to 24 women.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes to the class, which will cover being aware of one’s surroundings, as well as simple, effective and proven techniques to fight off an attacker and escape harm. Multiple attack scenarios will be explained, including sexual assault, home invasion, robbery and other violent criminal acts.
