Chanute Recreation Commission Program Director Andrea Kelly wants to collaborate to bring the The Ali Kemp Educational (TAKE) self-defense course to the Center.
“We have been in contact with the schools and going to be in contact with the college to get them on board,” Kelly said. “I have talked to the [TAKE] Foundation and they would like to see about a hundred people come to this training to make it worth their time. We need to get all hands on deck to get this going and have that amount of people here, even if we need to go and speak with Humboldt and Iola and those surrounding communities. The gym is obviously a great location to hold that and that is something we are working on.”
