As of January 1, 2014 the fees for carry and conceal (CCW) permits, and CCW permit renewals will be reduced for veterans and active duty military personnel. Lawrence County Sheriff Brad DeLay announced that this reduction in fees was done in part after discussing with veterans, the continuous rise of their daily costs and expenses. After Jan. 1, the fee for a CCW permit will be reduced from $100 to $50 for active duty military and veterans. This reduces the cost by half. Renewals for active duty military and veterans will be reduced from $50 to $25. All laws already in place regarding CCW permits and renewals are still in effect.
