In Florence, Alabama Officer Lee Smith works at the Florence Police Department, and is the head instructor for the gun safety classes offered by the Florence Police Department.
“The classes started seven years ago. We want to educate everyone who makes the choice to carry a firearm for defense,” stated Officer Smith. “We want to give them all the tools to make them safe and the community safe.”
The gun safety classes are divided into three levels:
– Level 1: Class covers topics on self-defense, gun safety and gun handling.
– Level 2 and 3: These two classes consist of topics like low-light shooting and situational role-playing for gun use.
