North Dakota Krav Maga in Mandan, a local self-defense center had their first Saturday Series this weekend. The series is held the first Saturday of every month this year, and offers self-defense classes for kids and women at a discounted price. Each month a free class is offered for those who serve the community, like law enforcement, military, teachers and medical staff. And owners say it’s a way to give back to the community.
“With the changes in North Dakota, our population growing a lot of transient communities coming in for work, the good and the bad comes with that. And the bad part of it is the increase in crime. We want to make sure people are prepared on how to defend themselves realistically,” says chief instructor Tomas Reis.
