A bill introduced by Clermont County lawmaker, Ohio State Representative John Becker allowing employees to keep their guns in their cars during work.

Ohio State Rep. John Becker (R-Union Township) introduced HB 420 on January 29, 2014; it would authorize workers with valid concealed-carry licenses to lock away their firearms in their vehicles.

“I’ve had several constituents approach me with this idea,” Rep. Becker stated. “They are law-abiding citizens who want to be able to protect themselves, but their ability to protect themselves is gone once they go to work.”

Current Ohio law says that, unless otherwise stated by the owner, employees are not able to bring firearms to work, and this also includes leaving them in their cars or anywhere on the premises of their workplace.
