Universal Sport Karate will host a free kids Self-Defense Awareness Event for Joplin and the surrounding communities on March 1, 2014.
“Just like when the tornado struck back in May 2011, things never seem real until they hit home. Now, more than ever, we feel it is important that children in Joplin and surrounding communities learn basic yet effective self-defense skills. Our goal with this event is to share some of those skills so our children can better protect themselves,” stated Sensei Gage.
The day will be broken into four 45 minute sessions, with each session covering the same material, so parents have an opportunity to bring their children to the next session if a current session is full or already in progress. Each session will begin on the hour, starting at 2:00pm. All who wish to attend are encouraged to show up ten minutes early to the session they plan to participate in.
