Free self-defense class for women being hosted by the Mundelein Police Department. Self-defense tactics for women who are 18 and over, and 17-year-olds with parental permission will also be allowed to attend.
The first sessions cover not just the physical aspect of self-defense, but situational awareness and being aware of what is happening around you that may pose a threat. “Our primary goal is to teach women awareness and prevention of violent attacks. However, if the situation is unavoidable we also give them the tools they need to physically defend themselves through various real-life scenarios and proven defensive tactics” said Officer Rachel Messina.
