Boston Police announced a free self-defense program to members of the community as a response to the recent attacks against women in East Boston.
The class is called “Street Smarts: Reducing Your Odds of Becoming a Victim,” will be taught by Sgt. Gary Eblan of the Boston Police Academy.
Eblan will talk about how an assailant chooses a victim, when and where an attack is likely to occur, and how people can make themselves less of a noticeable target. Participants will also be able to put together their own plan to reduce the odds of becoming a victim of an attack.
