The handgun safety course location was moved to take place at the Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office at 320 N. Main St. in Herkimer from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday on April 26, 2014, instead of the Town of Webb Information Center in Old Forge.
A gun safety course is required for anyone applying for a pistol permit in Herkimer County, and this course fulfills that requirement. The course costs $10 fee and class size is limited to 25. To sign up for the class, call the Herkimer County Pistol Permit Clerk at 867-1265 and be prepared to provide the name, address and telephone number of the person(s) who will be attending the class.
