In Rupert, Idaho the Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office will hold three classes for Mini-Cassia residents during 2014. “There’s been a lot of interest in a concealed weapon class and we want to help out our residents as much as we can,” said Minidoka County Sheriff Eric Snarr.
Snarr stated that the classes were filling up rapidly, and the first concealed-carry class will be held April 17, 2014 with two more classes to be held later in June and August. The class will instruct students on firearm safety and civil responsibilities related to carrying a concealed weapon. The course will also require students to shoot 100 rounds of ammunition on a gun range under the instruction of law enforcement officials.
Once completed, the enhanced permit allows a carrier to have a concealed weapon in multiple states with reciprocity agreements with Idaho. Students are required to supply ammunition, but the class is otherwise free. The class is only open to Minidoka County and Cassia County residents and students must be at least 21 years of age.
