In Alabama, local women and teens will be taught how to defend themselves by the Alabaster Police Department. The Alabaster PD will teach attendants of the program, defensive techniques against dangers such as assault and rape during a series of self-defense classes this summer. Two of the department’s officers – John Kessler and Jamison Lee – are certified “rape aggression defense” instructors, and will lead the classes, which will be held throughout the months of June and July.
