How can getting a concealed carry license help local students?
Easy. Donate half of the proceeds of the course fee to a scholarship fund.
The Arkansas Sheriffs’ Wives Association is sponsoring a concealed carry license course for participants 21 and older.
The course begins at 1 p.m. on May 31 at the Newton County Sheriff’s Office in Jasper. An instructional session will lead the course, with the qualifications portion at the shooting range coming after.
The course is $75 with half of the cost going to the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Wives Association’s scholarship fund.
Along with the $75 cost, there is an Arkansas state application fee of $142, which must be completed before the course. Applications can be found on the Arkansas State Police website.
Those interested in signing up for the course should contact Angela at 870-715-5624.
