The self-defense RAD (Rape, Aggression, Defense) System will be taught by Donald Hammock,executive director of the Crisis Center of Anderson and Cherokee Counties, and is a reserve peace officer and a certified RAD instructor. Hammock stated that the certification to teach this program is stringent. “In order to teach this program, one has to be a certified peace officer,” Hammock said. “This means that the students are being instructed by someone who has dealt with violent perpetrators in real life.”
