The annual Remington Long Range Open took place on May 30-June 1 at Reade Range in Fallen Timber, Pennsylvania.

According to the press release, 105 of the nation’s top long range, high-power rifle shooters went head-to-head in three long range disciplines at Reade Range, which is located on Lookout Mountain in central Pennsylvania. The match, which is regarded by many as the premier long range NRA regional competition, featured the NRA Long Range rules and classification system.

The NRA Palma Team Match, consisting of four man teams firing from 800, 900 and 1000 yards, took place on the first day. Team Remington emerged victorious in the Palma match with a score of 1766- 31x.

As the press release notes, the firing members for Team Remington were Joe Hendricks, Carl Bernosky, Mark Laramie and Tom Rider. Team Coach was Ken Roxburgh and Team Captain for the event was Dwight Briggs.

Day two and three of the competition consisted of three individual 1000 yard, any rifle, iron sight and service rifle competitions.

  • High NRA Match Rifle and overall individual champion – Matthew Lechliter, score: 984-35x
  • High NRA Palma Competitor- Bill Gelet, Team Reade, score: 968-36x
  • High NRA Military Match Rifle- Corporal Diconza, USMC Rifle team, score 955-22x
  • High NRA Service Rifle- Joe Sopko, score: 930-20x
  • High NRA F-Class Open- Jim Fowler, score: 953-27x
  • High NRA F-Class Tactical Rifle-John Pierce, score: 946-21x
  • High Junior NRA match Rifle- Tommy Ferraro, Team Reade, score: 949-28x
