Sharon Doyle, a Philadelphia business owner, shot and killed an armed robber when he entered her health foods store.
Doyle, who has prior law enforcement experience serving with the Philadelphia Police as well as the Secret Service, said she initially forgot to bring her .38 caliber revolver with her day of the robbery before turning around to get it.
According to her interview with NBC, Doyle said, “I was in a few different areas of law enforcement. For family life it really wasn’t working out quite the way I wanted it to and it led me here [to this store].”
Doyle continued, “I just went into a mode like this is what has to be done [when the robber entered her store]. One of us is walking out of the door and it’s gonna be me.”
