The Savannah, Georgia Rape Crisis Center will host a Krav Maga self-defense course on August 3.
The Rape Crisis Center will present the “Safe at College” course, hosted by certified Krav Maga Instructor Todd Mashburn. Krav Maga is a special form of military-polished self-defense training originating from Israel.
The course is aimed to attract college-aged women who will be attending college in the fall.
The Rape Crisis Center hopes the course will build self-confidence and will encourage awareness and personal safety among the young women who take the course.
There is a suggested donation of $10 per person to take the class. Mothers are encouraged to attend the class with their daughters.
The class will be held from 3 p.m. 5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church on 520 Washington Avenue in Savannah, Georgia. To reserve a space in the class, call 912-233-3000 – not the church – between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The deadline to register is August 1. Space is limited.
