Valpo ATA’s Self Defense Seminar teaches men and women ages 10 and up how to be safe, aware and prepared.

During the class, participants will be taught common-sense safety practices and interactive self-defense techniques. The seminar will emphasize safety in a college or university setting, ValpoLife.com said.

Breaking holds, striking pressure points, pain compliance and gun defense are just some of the items on the agenda. Sexual harassment and defenses against such actions — like hip check and joint manipulation — will also be taught.
