A special presentation of the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program is scheduled for Saturday in the Eastland Mall in Evansville, Indiana.
The Eddie Eagle program teaches children how to stay safe if they find a firearm through their slogan “STOP! Don’t Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult.”
This presentation will be conducted by representatives of the Evansville Police Department. Eddie Eagle coloring books, stickers and commemorative coins will be given to the children who attend while supplies last. The program’s mascot, Eddie Eagle himself, will also make an appearance.
Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin said, “We want to get the message through to kids that if you see a gun don’t touch it. We don’t want children to think it’s a toy gun and accidentally shoot somebody.”
The program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
