A pair of suspects got more than they bargained for when they used a fake shotgun during a home invasion in Norfolk, Virginia.

According to WTKR, the two men broke into a local rooming house at around 4:45 a.m.

Upon entering, they forced their way into a room armed with two pipes bound together to look like a shotgun. They began to attack and rob the man living in that room.

The man realized the two home invaders were using a fake shotgun, and immediately fought back, injuring the suspects.

As WTKR reports, one man was arrested and hospitalized with injuries, while the other managed to escape.

The victim told police he only had $13 on him and was sleep when the two suspects broke into his room.
