A new handgun safety class is being offered in Williamson County, Illinois.
According to the Daily Republican, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department is sponsoring the class, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. this saturday. The class is open to all Williamson County residents aged 21 and up.
“The Handgun Safety Class will focus on basic firearm safety for owners and families, proper cleaning and storage of guns, and Illinois gun laws for possession of firearms,” Sheriff Bennie Vick said in a press release.
After that, students will take part in a four-hour training session at the Williamson County Firearm Training Facility. Students can bring their own handgun. They must have a current FOID card.
Class size is limited to 16 people. If there is any room left, residents from other counties will be accepted.
