According to the Morris Daily Herald, the classes — which are sponsored by state Rep. John Anthony, R-Plainfield — are scheduled for Aug. 23 and 24. The instructor is Brian McNichols, a federally licensed firearms dealer with over 15 years of firearms experience, including the United States Marine Corps as a marksmanship instructor and a NRA certified pistol instructor.
The size of the class will be limited to 15 people. It will consist of a classroom portion and range training. The classroom portion is divided into three blocks, with each block being four hours long. The range training is made up of one four-hour block. This will equal the required 16 hours of training.
“We want to help connect residents interested in obtaining their CCL with a qualified local instructor to complete the necessary hours of training,” Anthony said in a press release. “We are grateful to Brian McNichols for his willingness to provide the training and look forward to a successful class.”
As the Morris Daily Herald reports, the classes will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 24. Those who email mmiguns@gmail.com with plans to sign up will receive the address for the unannounced training site.
