A suspected home invader in Harris County, Texas, accidentally shot his accomplice during a fight with the homeowner, authorities said.
According to KHOU, three men broke into a home — located in the 2400 block of Green Knoll — and were confronted by a homeowner ready to defend himself with a shotgun.
Police said the homeowner began fighting with one of the suspects, and the suspect’s gun went off. The bullet hit one of the other two home invaders. The two other accomplices fled the scene.
As GunsSaveLives.net reports, a neighbor who heard screams and gunshots rushed over to the home and assisted the homeowner in subduing the injured suspect while police arrived.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The homeowner was not injured during the struggle.
