An Orlando homeowner shot at an intruder attempting to burglarize his residence.

According to ClickOrlando.com, a husband, his wife and their two children were asleep at home in the 8300 block of Fort Thomas Way near Goldenrod Road when the husband heard a strange noise coming from somewhere inside in the house. He grabbed his firearm and went to investigate.

He discovered an intruder and opened fire. The intruder managed to escape, driving off in an older model silver sedan, authorities said. It hasn’t yet been established whether or not the intruder was shot.

Fortunately, the family was uninjured in the incident.

As ClickOrlando.com reports, it is believed that the intruder accessed the home through the garage.

Orange County Sheriff investigators found that somebody had tried to break into several vehicles in the neighborhood around the house, with one vehicle being burglarized. It is thought that the intruder is also responsible for this crime.
