If you live in the Flagler County area of Florida and are interest in learning a variety of self-defense techniques to keep you safe, check out the free classes offered by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

According to News 13, the classes take place every monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE. The self-defense class is comprised of three 2-hour classes.

Participants will receive useful information about self-defense, as well as hands-on defensive training from certified instructors.

As News 13 reports, the classes started in 2007 and since then, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has taught over 1,200 women ages 12 and up.

“In May of this year, we held our 100th women’s self-defense class,” said Sheriff James L. Manfre. “It is a worthwhile class in which women of all ages have benefited from.”

The schedule for the classes is as follows: Sept. 22, 29, Oct. 26, Nov. 10, Nov. 17 and Nov. 24.
