Shaneen Allen, the 27-year-old mother-of-two who narrowly avoided a prison sentence for unknowingly violating New Jersey’s gun laws, will be the keynote speaker at the ANJRPC (Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs) annual meeting banquet on Saturday, October 18, in Edison, New Jersey. The ANJRPC is the official NRA State Affiliate in New Jersey.
According to NRA-ILA, Allen will be joined by Ginny Simone of NRA News, and gun rights attorney Evan Nappen, who represented her during the case. The banquet will also feature an auction portion with one-of-a-kind NRA-branded collectible merchandise. Half the proceeds will be donated back to New Jersey shooters by the NRA Foundation.
Banquet seating ($60 per ticket) is open to the public on a first come, first-served basis. Prepay for a ticket to ensure that seats are still available and that the event is not sold out (contact Jennifer Pantano at email@example.com or 201-268-2618). The event will be held at The Rosewood, 2863 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837 (732-549-2900).
As previously reported, Shaneen Allen was arrested in New Jersey last October for illegal possession of a Bersa Thunder .380 handgun in her vehicle. She had a valid concealed carry permit for the state of Pennsylvania, but unknowingly to her, it was not valid in New Jersey. She faced three to five years in prison for the offense. Fortunately, she managed to avoid jail time by entering into a pre-trial intervention (PTI) program. Watch the video below to learn more about Shaneen’s story.
