Manual Locking NRA Home Defense Cabinet
Manual Locking NRA Home Defense Cabinet – with handgun holster
Safely locking your firearm is a must for every gun owner. As part of the “Own it? Respect it. Secure it” initiative launched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, NRA Jotto Gear is introducing its new line of Manual Locking NRA Home Defense Cabinets.
Constructed using the same technology as NRA Jotto Gear’s original cabinets, which featured a biometric unit complete with a proprietary live fingerprint detector, the new cabinets open via a manual key locking system. As the press release notes, the cabinet sits recessed in the wall and, once installed, resembles a wood-framed mirror. Indeed, this unit comes with an unfinished or stained maple wood frame to fit your home décor. It is suitable for the bathroom, hallway, and other areas in the home where people normally pass through.
Accessing your firearm quickly from the Manual Locking NRA Home Defense Cabinet involves a two step process. First, use the quick release latch found just behind the wooden frame. After that, slide the mirrored panel to the side to access the manual locking system which utilizes a traditional key lock entry system.
According to the press release, the Manual Locking NRA Home Defense Cabinet is available in two models. The single firearm unit is designed for an AR/AK style firearm or shotgun with an MSRP of $395. The dual firearm unit includes added space to accommodate an AR/AK style firearm or shotgun and a handgun. The MSRP is $549. Both units are available in a medium or unfinished maple wood frame and measure 60 inches by 20 inches. They also include a utility shelf for a flashlight, utility knife or other items.
